A little history for my fellow nerds: The Limited is owned by that giant conglomerate Limited Brands, which brings you Vicky's Secret, Express, Lane Bryant, A&F and Bath & Body Works. In other words, fast fashion for the middle class person. The Limited has always focused on the 30ish+ crowd, while Express is the younger version...so Express is more party and Limited is more office, with some wiggle room on both ends. The Limited has always done well in that it sells (usually) well made clothes for reasonable prices. Some other companies have boarded the cheap train and have noticeably shifted their quality of clothing and--knock on wood--Limited hasn't (I've been shopping there since about 1997). With the new arrival at the Galleria, they've gone above and beyond with their awesome sales (yesterday the whole store was 40% off--nice bonus because I found out at the register) and handing out cards that will give you future mystery savings of up to $100 any purchase, including clearance. I also spent over $100 and the salesgirl gave me a free garment bag, perfect for work trips! Yahoo. They also had a DJ Friday night and a photo booth. A little gimmicky, maybe, but hey it makes them stand out since the store is so new to many people in the area.
I'm giving this location the bennie of the doubt because all this week they've been having special events and most of the salespeople are running around setting things up...which means no customer service, at least on the floor. Not once in the several minutes I was there--several items in my arms--was I even smiled at, much less approached. This would be no big deal if all customers were ignored.
Anywhoo, I came in the parking lot side (makes it feel more boutique-y and you can get in and out if all you want to do is get a jacket or something for work) armed with a $20 off coupon from a visit a couple of weeks ago. When I got to the fitting room the girl asked if I had a number...when I asked what she meant, she said it was if anybody had been helping me (no). I tried on a sweater that kinda fit but needed the next size up, so she offered to find it for me. OK, so several minutes went by and more people come into the dressing room and asked for something else, and she followed through; guess she forgot about me. I finally stuck my head out and asked the other girl if she can help, and she sprang into action and eventually (after I was dressed and about to leave) found the sweater I had asked for. Wouldn't you know, it fit like a dream.
The girl at checkout was really sweet and expressed surprise (a I hadn't been helped on the floor and (b I didn't know they were having a sale. She apologized several times and I felt like a jerk for even commenting about the lack of help. On my way out (mall entrance) I found some more great things and since the sale was only that day I came back through right before closing and got more stuff. Now I'm set for winter, if it ever drops below 60 that is!!:)
The new Limited store that has just opened at the Galleria is spectacular. I love their location. They are accessible from the outside of the mall, just next to the door that opens up closest to Macy's, across from the parking structure. The store is neatly organized, appears to be a high end shopping experience and yet is very reasonable. The associates are as friendly as can be. They are extremely helpful and are well versed in their products, what materials they are made of, size availability as well as how to locate that same item for customers either on line or at a store close by. The shopping experience that I had here was phenomenal. I met the store manager when I was there today, although I cannot remember their name. Everyone was so helpful. And even though during most of my visit there, I didn't need any assistance, it was nice to know that the sales associates were right there if I did need them. I really liked how their manaquins were dressed. THey gave you ideas as to how you could layer your outfits accordingly, to suit the weather or the occasion. I really appreciated the assistance from the associates. They made sure that I saw their newest items as well as what they had on sale. And even more informative, they did give me suggestions as to what items I might be able to find on line for a lesser price and/or items that may go with some of what they carried exclusively on line. Thanks for an awesome shopping experience!!
